BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A recent audit by the New York State Comptroller found that town officials in Amherst failed to ensure employees received correct leave time benefits due to a lack of oversight.
The audit by state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli set out to determine if town officials ensured their employees received leave time benefits, stipends and separation payments that were consistent with town policies and collective bargaining agreements.
