BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A major road reconstruction project in Cheektowaga is entering its final phase, officials said Wednesday.
Erie County officials said that the $27 million Borden Road project is entering its third phase of construction. The project includes new sewer lines and new curbs, in addition to pavement and sidewalk rehabilitation, and stretches from French Road to Seneca Creek. The project began in 2024.
“Fall is near, but our Department of Public Works’ Highways Division is still hard at work doing roads across Erie County; 2026 was one of the biggest years we’ve had for road construction with regards to mileage as well as costs,” Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz said…
