BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Catholic Health is set to close the Mercy Diagnostic and Treatment Center in West Seneca on Jan. 4, and patients are raising concerns about the future of their care. The facility shutting its doors will lead to consolidation within hospital-based programs.
Patients shared different concerns at a meeting on Tuesday about the closure — which Mercy leaders say comes down to the lack of a contract agreement with the facility’s landlord after months of negotiation.
“This was not an easy decision,” Mercy Hospital President Derek Drake said. “Unfortunately, we were not able to come to a contract solution with our landlord, and we are not renewing our lease at the 550 Orchard Park Road location. It’s for three suites that operate our imaging and rehabilitation therapy services.”…
