BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A man from Holland, New York, was arrested and charged after conveying a false threat to use an explosive device on a power plant in Georgia, the U.S. District Attorney’s Office said Wednesday.
Officials said 23-year-old Joseph Leone sent a private message to Georgia Power’s Instagram account in April claiming he was an active employee at the plant and had placed a detonation device inside the office headquarters.
He threatened to detonate the device if they didn’t “figure out a way to make things right to the citizens of Little Neck Road in Savannah.” The message was sent in response to the plant cutting down a 300-year-old oak tree…
