BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Lackawanna couple was sentenced for starving their two dogs at their home on South Park Avenue, resulting in one of them dying, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office said Thursday.
Stephen Andres, 42, was given a split sentence of six months in jail and five years of probation. Tara Andres, 44, was given five years of probation.
The DA’s office said Stephen Andres called the SPCA on Feb. 5, 2026 requesting they pick up a dead dog. The dog was transferred to a veterinary hospital at Cornell University where it was determined the dog likely died due to starvation…
