Three Buffalo police officers on administrative leave after fatal shooting along Minnesota Avenue

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) – Three Buffalo police officers are on administrative after their involvement in a fatal shooting Thursday night in the city’s University District.

E District officers responded to Minnesota Avenue at around 11 p.m. Thursday following a report of a 58-year-old man having a mental health crisis that eventually led to three people being held at knifepoint. Among those being threatened was a group of paramedics and a neighbor.

One officer attempted to de-escalate the situation with the use of his taser, but the situation escalated quickly, eventually resulting in another officer firing his gun twice, striking the man in the torso…
