NY weather: part of New York placed under a wind advisory until Tuesday midday – gusts could peak at 50 mph

At 12:54 p.m. on Monday, the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory valid from 11 p.m. until Tuesday 11 a.m. for Wyoming, Livingston, Ontario, Cattaraugus, Allegany and Erie counties.

The weather service informs, “Southeast to south winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.”

“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” explains the weather service. “Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.”
