BreadHive Worker Cooperative is expanding into a West Side building. The bakery and café located at 402 Connecticut Street is proposing to convert a one-story 9,164 sq. ft. warehouse building at 98 Rhode Island Street for its wholesale baking operations. No retail sales are proposed for the site.
The plan requires approval of a Special Use Permit from the City as Industrial Artisan Facility. Interior renovations will create dough mixing, baking, and packaging operations, a bagel production area, a walk-in freezer, and a shipping and receiving area that can handle up to two vehicles inside the building. Three new exterior doors are proposed for the main facade.
