Man accused of threatening deputy mayor was convicted for murdering priest

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man accused of threatening the city’s deputy mayor with a knife last week was convicted of murdering a priest in Buffalo more than 40 years ago.

William Royle, 67, is accused of making the threat against Deputy Mayor Eugenio Russi near Court Street on Friday, officials said.
