Krog Snags Catholic Center Complex

The Krog Group is submitted the highest bid on the Diocese of Buffalo’s Catholic Center complex located at the northeast corner of Main and Goodell streets. Krog outbid Brooklyn-based affordable housing developer BFC Partners with a $4.6 million offer, $100,000 more than BFC. BFC was planning affordable housing for the site; Krog has not revealed its plans.

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court which is overseeing the diocese’s Chapter 11 case approved the sale today according to The Buffalo News. In addition to the former Courier Express Building, the purchase includes a two-story office building at 801 Main Street, a parking garage north of it, and two surface parking lots along Main Street. The diocese has consolidated its offices into 801 Main Street, formerly occupied by Walsh Insurance which moved to the Larkin District last year.
