Cape Coral police target speeding and aggressive driving in citywide operation

CAPE CORAL, Florida — The Cape Coral Police Department conducted a high visibility traffic operation on June 2, 2026, targeting speeding and aggressive driving, resulting in 110 citations.

The operation, funded by an FDOT sub-grant, took place from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and involved 118 total traffic stops, according to a press release from the department. Officers issued 81 speed citations, 102 moving citations, and 11 distracted driving citations. Additionally, there were 10 citations for aggressive driving and five for texting and driving.

The Cape Coral Police Department reported no DUI arrests but made one other arrest during the operation.
