FORT MYERS, Fla. — The State of Florida filed a motion on June 5 to seek the death penalty for the man accused of killing a gas station clerk with a hammer in Fort Myers.
According to the State Attorney’s Office, Rolbert Joachin, 40, was indicted by a grand jury on a first-degree murder charge, which carries a potential death penalty.
According to court documents, the state’s notice of intent to seek the death penalty cited the aggravating factor stating, “The capital felony was a homicide and was committed in a cold, calculated, and premeditated manner without any pretense of moral or legal justification.”…
