Marion County teen charged as adult in Greenwood festival shooting

GREENWOOD, Ind. — A 16-year-old has been formally charged as an adult for his alleged role in a shooting that occurred last week at the Our Lady of Greenwood Parish Festival.

The Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office announced that the case involving 16-year-old Jayden Collins has been filed into adult court after it filed a level 5 felony for dangerous possession of a firearm against him.

JCPO said the charge could be filed directly into adult court because the statute “exempts the requirement that this charge commence in Juvenile Court.” This charge was filed after Collins was alleged to have provided a firearm to another juvenile, “he knew was not eligible to buy or receive a gun.”…
