INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis man has been arrested after allegedly using an AK-47-style rifle to rob his father, saying he’d “air this motherf***er out” if he didn’t get $20.
Deshawn Edwards, 28, was arrested Sunday morning after an argument at a home on Indy’s east side ended with shots being fired. He has since been officially charged with felony armed robbery, criminal recklessness, intimidation and pointing a firearm.
IMPD officers were called around 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 16 to a home in the 2900 block of N. Denny Street after a caller reported hearing at least seven gunshots. The caller said that, while they did not physically see Edwards shooting, they believed he was the suspect.
The caller explained that Edwards and his father had gotten into a fight that ended with Edwards trying to rob his father while wielding a “Draco.” Court documents state that Edwards had shot his father in the past and served time in jail for the offense…
