IMPD: 18-year-old arrested after double shooting on SW side in mid-March

INDIANAPOLIS — Officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department stated that an 18-year-old has been taken into custody following a double shooting on the southwest side of Indianapolis earlier this year.

According to previous reports, officers were called to the 5800 block of Coppock Drive on a report of a shooting on March 19.

When officers arrived at the time, they found two individuals, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old, who had been shot. Both teens were transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

In an update, officials with IMPD stated that at the time, aggravated assault detectives began to canvass the area of the shooting for witnesses, evidence and available camera footage. Through that work, the suspect was identified as an 18-year-old…
