INDIANAPOLIS – An investigation is underway after a fire broke out at a vacant building and damaged three nearby homes on Indy’s east side Monday morning.
According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, just after 1:30 a.m., crews responded to the 200 block of North Walcott Street for a reported structure fire.
When fire crews arrived on scene, they discovered heavy fire showing in a vacant two-story building. Firefighters alerted an adult male living next door of the fire and assisted him in evacuating his house.
