Suspect shot by Lawrence police officer

LAWRENCE, Ind. — A suspect was shot by a Lawrence police officer on Sunday night.

According to the Lawrence Police Department, officers responded to the intersection of 47th Street and Richardt Avenue around 8:50 p.m. because dispatchers had received reports that indicated an armed person was spotted in the area.

LPD confirmed that an officer shot a suspect sometime after arriving at the scene. Police did not elaborate on the circumstances that led the officer to fire their gun.
