Fever’s Sophie Cunningham Clarifies Comments About New Deal

The Indiana Fever wants to run it back with guard Sophie Cunningham and signed her to a one-year, $665,000 contract to return to the team. Last season, Cunningham became a fan-favorite after she took on the role of being the “enforcer” for the Fever. She spent most of the time rehabbing and getting back into proper conditioning in the offseason. Ahead of the 2026 campaign, she was brought back for her second stint with the franchise.

However, most people misinterpreted her comments about her new contract. On the recent episode of her podcast, “Show Me Something,” Cunningham said that her deal with Indiana was “frustrating.”
