INDIANAPOLIS — Community members on the south side of Indianapolis are trying to make an area safer for pedestrians, especially students trying to get to school.
Southside United for Indianapolis Trails just installed a temporary traffic calming project near Adelante Schools at Emma Donnan Elementary and Middle School. On Troy Avenue, there are now temporary barriers between Carson Avenue and Shelby Street.
The barriers turn Troy Avenue from four lanes to three driving lanes and a protected lane for bikers and walkers. It helps link the IndyGo Red Line station at Shelby Street to a multi-use trail path that begins at Carson Avenue…
