Indiana returns $56M in unclaimed cash; $1B still waiting

Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita’s Unclaimed Property Division has returned more than $56 million to rightful owners as of May 18, putting the state on track to potentially break last year’s record.

The division returned $88 million in 2025, its largest sum to date.

“Hoosiers throw around a lot of racing metaphors during the month of May,” Rokita said. “Well, this could be a new track record for our Unclaimed Property Division.”…
