Electric bikes continue becoming more common across neighborhoods, schools, parks, and greenways, but one North Carolina town is taking a stronger approach toward how these vehicles are used.
Officials in Holly Springs, North Carolina recently approved a new ordinance aimed at addressing safety concerns involving e-bikes, e-motos, and other electric personal transportation devices. The new rules include escalating fines for repeat violations, possible vehicle impoundment, and additional safety requirements for riders. The ordinance is expected to take effect on June 1.
