RALEIGH — North Carolina’s Local Government Commission approved the Centennial Authority’s debt request for $200 million to improve the Lenovo Center during its June meeting. The debt request is in bond anticipation notes, which are short-term funds financed for major infrastructure projects that typically require traditional, long-term municipal bonds.
The investment for the Lenovo Center intends to modernize and enhance the venue’s structure to broaden its sports and entertainment appeal.
“Lenovo Center hosts hundreds of events every year, from NC State Men’s Basketball to Hurricanes hockey to world-class touring acts and family shows,” said Philip Isley, Chairman of the Centennial Authority, when the Lenovo Center enhancement project was announced. “These enhancements will help us continue to bring top entertainment and events to Raleigh.”…
