A Durham-based security company owes $65,231 to a former Muslim employee after it allegedly fired her for taking a religious holiday off, the U.S. Equal Employment and Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced Monday.
North Carolina Detective Agency offers 24/7 armed and non-armed security to businesses, hospitals, neighborhoods and events. In its Monday statement, the EEOC said it found reasonable cause to believe the company denied time off to an employee for a Muslim religious holiday.
