North Carolina man wins $1,578,846 after buying lottery ticket at grocery store

CARY, N.C. (WGHP) — Montfort Faulkner, of Cary, bought a Fast Play ticket and won a $1,578,846 jackpot, which is the largest Fast Play win in North Carolina Education Lottery history.

Faulkner bought his winning $20 Jackpot 777 ticket on Feb. 3 from the Publix on Kildaire Farm Road in Cary, according to an NC Education Lottery news release.

At the time of the win, the Fast Play jackpot had just reached $1,378,846.
