AG announces 20-year sentence for woman charged in abuse death case
RIO RANCHO โ A woman charged in 2023 with the death of developmentally disabled woman, Mary Melero, 38, of Rio Rancho, has pleaded guilty and will get a lengthy sentence. Attorney General Raรบl Torrez and the New Mexico Department of Justiceโs Medicaid Fraud and Elder Abuse Bureau announced April 6 that it secured a minimum of 20 years in prison for Angelita Chacon.
