The WDEF building wasn’t always a TV station – Then and Now
This building at 3300 Broad Street has been the home of WDEF TV for almost 70 years, but this isn’t where we started our operations. We actually first launched our broadcast in 1954 from the Volunteer Life Building’s fourth floor. Its address is listed in historical documents as being at Georgia Avenue and 9th street.
Southern Railway No. 4501 green debut delayed

Statue to be unveiled of Oak Ridge WWII photographer
OAK RIDGE, Tenn. — At just 20 years old, the United States Government chose Chattanooga native Ed Westcott to take photographs for the Manhattan Project in Oak Ridge. "He has 15,250 negatives on cold storage in the National Archives. We have several hundred of them here in Oak Ridge but not all of them," said Ray Smith, Oak Ridge Historian.
Chattanooga is off to see ‘The Wiz!’

The Wiz is celebrating their 50th anniversary with a tour around the country, stopping in Chattanooga for a total of 8 shows. CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A tiny cry from beneath the pavement turned an ordinary morning into a heartwarming rescue by Chattanooga firefighters on Rossville Boulevard Friday. East Ridge police welcome Gus, a Cane Corso comfort dog, to boost officer morale
