Hendersonville breaks ground on Heritage Park

The city of Hendersonville broke ground on a highly anticipated project last week: Heritage Park.

“It’s not every day you get to break ground on a new park,” Hendersonville Parks and Recreation Director Andy Gilley said at the groundbreaking ceremony last Friday morning. “We’ve done it three times in the last 15 years with Volunteer Park and the rugby facility, so this is definitely not every day we get to do this.”

Situated just off of Indian Lake Boulevard at 119 East Dr., the park includes a welcome center with a meeting space and restrooms, parking lot, an inclusive playground, an ADA accessible concrete walking trail and an event pavilion behind the barn…
