Iowa speed limit increases take effect July 1
Governor Kim Reynolds signed Senate File 378 into law June 1, increasing Iowa’s default speed limit on most two-lane state highways and rural roads. The speed limit will be changed from 55 mph to 60 mph. The change takes effect July 1. Interstate highways are not affected and will remain at 70 mph.
