An alleged drunk driver slammed into another vehicle in his lifted Dodge truck at highway speeds in downtown Eugene Oct. 23 before taking off and eventually getting arrested in Springfield, police said. Eugene Police responded to a reported hit-and-run at West 7th Avenue and Polk Street around 2:45 p.m. A man driving a lifted black Ram rear-ended a vehicle stopped behind an LTD bus at about 55 mph and took off, police said. The person in the stopped truck sustained non-life threatening injuries.
