Long Beach police say they arrested a 41-year-old homeless man on suspicion of stealing more than 100 pounds of precious metals, including copper and brass. After receiving a tip, officers located Russel Libberton on Friday afternoon on Cherry Avenue just south of the 405 Freeway, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

A 56-year-old man was charged Wednesday with shooting a male relative in a domestic dispute in a residential portion of Garden Grove, leaving him in critical condition. The shooting occurred just before 4 p.m. Monday in the 12100 block of Flagstone Avenue, one block east of Harbor Boulevard, near the Garden Grove (22) Freeway, police said.
