FLORIDA — Several weather changes are on the way for Florida this weekend into early next week, including strong winds, high surf, and coastal flooding. Wind gusts could reach 35 to 45 mph from Sunday into Monday, especially along the East Coast. A High Surf Advisory is in effect, with surf-zone waves of 7 to 13 feet from Sunday through Tuesday. Coastal flooding is expected to worsen as king tides combine with days of gusty northeast winds.

A Northern Virginia man received suspended sentences Thursday from a second judge for obtaining fake prescriptions on the Eastern Shore of Virginia in 2023. Twenty-four-year-old Jorge Alejandro Manzano-Garcia, of Herndon, was linked to a scheme in which a Fairfax doctor wrote a massive number of prescriptions and sent people across the state to pick up the drugs.
