Raygun store settles lawsuit over joke t-shirt design

DES MOINES, Iowa (KCCI/KCRG) – Raygun, a popular T-shirt store with locations in Iowa City, Cedar Rapids and across the Midwest, has settled a consumer protection lawsuit over alleged violations of pricing law, KCCI reports.

The Institute for Truth in Marketing, a group based in Washington, D.C., sued Raygun over a shirt that says “I GOT THIS SHIRT ON SALE.”

The group claimed Raygun tricked customers into thinking they were getting a deal by showing inflated “original” prices next to discounted sale prices. The group alleged that Raygun never sold the items at the original price, violating a D.C. law. Raygun does not have any stores in Washington, but does sell its products online…
