Marshalltown man sentenced in meth conspiracy

A Marshalltown man has been sentenced to more than eight years in federal prison for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa says 25-year-old Juan Eduardo Rivas Martinez was sentenced June 11 in Cedar Rapids after pleading guilty Jan. 12 to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.

According to prosecutors, information presented at sentencing showed Martinez distributed more than 450 grams of ice methamphetamine to a confidential informant on June 11, 2024.
