CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Five years after one of the most shocking crimes in Cedar Rapids history, the murders of Jan, Melissa and Sabrina Jackson continue to leave a lasting impact on their family, friends and the community.
On June 15, 2021, police were called to the Jackson family’s home on Oak Leaf Court NE after Alexander “Alex” Jackson reported that an intruder had entered the residence and shot members of his family. Investigators quickly focused on Jackson, who was the sole surviving member of the household.
The killings stunned Cedar Rapids. Jan Jackson, 61, Melissa Jackson, 68, and their daughter Sabrina Jackson, 19, were found dead inside the home.
