CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Some 1,200 miles in, Patrick Smith is about a third of the way across the United States on the American Rail Trail — he’s one of six combat veterans riding as part of the Warrior Bike Expedition.
They started in Washington D.C. and are expected to end west of Seattle in August.
Smith’s helmet is littered with stickers from different communities they’ve ridden through along the way. People have greeted, fed and housed the riders as they travel across the country…
