UI student accused of raping unconscious woman in dorm pleads not guilty

IOWA CITY, Iowa (IOWA’S NEWS NOW) — The University of Iowa student accused of carrying a woman inside a campus dorm and then raping her is pleading not guilty to his charges.

Court filings show Cameron Frattalone, 19, pled not guilty to one count of third-degree sexual abuse on Thursday, about five months after investigators say he assaulted the woman inside Hillcrest Hall on February 8. The victim reported the alleged assault to University of Iowa Public Safety two days later and Frattalone was interviewed by officers later that week. He was formally arrested and charged in the case in early May.
