Number of people experiencing homelessness in Iowa increasing as national number decreases

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) – New federal data shows 9 in 10,000 Iowans experienced homelessness in 2025 – a total of 2,816 people.

The state saw higher numbers of unhoused people with a 7% increase from 2024 to 2025.
