CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Another round of morning storms is likely on Wednesday.
A few isolated showers and storms have been moving through the state tonight. Like last night, if storms develop and mature, an isolated severe storm could occur. Damaging winds would be the primary threat if that happens, with large hail also possible. The chance seems relatively slim at this stage. Be ready to seek shelter indoors if storms threaten your area.
Beyond that, skies should remain partly cloudy. Lows fall toward the upper 60s to low 70s with muggy conditions.
A better opportunity for storms arrives near and after daybreak once again. Another cluster or line of storms could track right through the state, bringing with it heavy rains and frequent lightning. The ingredients for widespread and significant severe weather tomorrow don’t quite match what we had in place today. So, it’s a less certain outcome overall, but some damaging wind risk could develop with a well-organized storm complex.
