A domestic abuse suspect faces additional charges after he allegedly assaulted an Iowa City Police officer. Police were called to a domestic disturbance at an address on Indigo Court just before 10:15 Thursday night. Arriving officers say the door was locked and they could hear screaming coming from inside the residence. According to arrest records, 36-year-old Frank Bravo Jr. eventually answered the door with a woman showing signs of distress behind him. Police say the woman was slumped over while bleeding and showing signs of being assaulted. She claimed Bravo had pinned her to a bed, punched her multiple times, and destroyed her phone when she tried to call 9-1-1.
