Iowa Will Report NCAA Violation Regarding Recruitment Of Alabama Transfer Kadyn Proctor

Iowa is expected to self-report a Level III NCAA violation for impermissible contact with former Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor. The news was first reported by Scott Dochterman of The Athletic .

Speculation began after Proctor said that the Hawkeyes reached out to him during the season to check on him, which raised red flags for many college football fans. Dochterman reported that an Iowa assistant texted Proctor to “hang in there” during the season.

Level III violations are considered minor, which indicates that a major punishment is not expected. According to the report, the punishment is not expected to be much more than further education for the staffer involved.

Proctor was named to the All- SEC Freshman Team after starting 13 games for the Crimson Tide last season. He signed with the Crimson Tide as a five-star prospect out of Des Moines, Iowa. He was the No. 9 overall prospect and No. 1 offensive tackle in the country, according to the On3 industry rankings .
