Shirley Lou Richmond, 90, of Anamosa, formerly of Ryan, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on September 20, 1935 in Anamosa, the daughter of Alfred and Mildred (Julfs) Dirks. Shirley was raised and educated in Anamosa.
On April 2, 1951, Shirley was united in marriage to Donald H. Richmond in Anamosa. Six children were born to this union. Shirley worked for Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids for twenty years, retiring as an inspector. Shirley also worked alongside her husband as custodians for St. Patrick Catholic Church for eight years and at Knight Hawk Security for two years…
