While at North Scott High School in Iowa’s Quad Cities, Chloe Schwab committed to the University of Iowa because of its reputation in journalism and mass communication, with aspirations of becoming a broadcast TV news anchor. Slowly, she realized that wasn’t her true calling; musical theater was.
During the summer after her senior year of high school, with the support of her friends and family, she changed her major to theater, where she would soon thrive at the UI.
“It was refreshing because it’s a whole different world when you do it in high school versus when you do it in college because everybody here is so dedicated to it,” Schwab said. “This is what everybody wants to do. It goes from doing it for fun and doing it for, you know, something I enjoy to, ‘Oh, I can actually get better at this type of thing.’”…
