East Valley Institute of Technology war could strand hundreds of students

The war between the East Valley Institute of Technology and nine East Valley school districts has gone nuclear, no longer involving lawyers and administrators but parents and thousands of students as well.

So far, five of those districts – Chandler Unified, Gilbert Public Schools, Tempe Union, Higley Unified and Queen Creek Unified –have indicated they will not pay for students’ transportation to EVIT’s two Mesa campuses.

As a result, parents are worried about how their kids will get to those two campuses for a half day five days a week for Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses their home high schools usually don’t offer…
