Hundreds of homeowners were told they’d become part of Queen Creek. Wednesday night the town council voted to stop that from happening.

QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. — The Queen Creek Town Council is set to meet Wednesday and discuss possibly removing an annexed area from the General Plan.

The area known as Combs and Gantzel includes 489 acres of property and an estimated population of 5,000 people.

According to the agenda packet for the meeting, an analysis conducted by town departments showed it would cost more to maintain the annexation then the town would receive in tax revenue…
