TSMC Arizona expansion could make it Phoenix’s largest water customer

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company’s latest expansion plans in north Phoenix could make it the city of Phoenix’s largest tap water customer, according to a water policy expert at Arizona State University.

TSMC announced plans last week to invest an additional $100 billion in its north Phoenix campus, bringing its total planned investment to $265 billion.

The company is planning to build four more chip fabrication plants, or fabs, bringing the planned total to 10, in addition to previously announced plans for two advanced chip packaging facilities and a research and development center on a new 900-acre campus…
