After exhausting the city’s approval process and failing to obtain permission to operate, a recovery house in a residential neighborhood has refiled a claim demanding $3.4 million in damages from Mesa.
The city declined commenting on the claim filed July 6. If after 60 days Mesa doesn’t respond or settle, Legacy Recovery Center can then file a lawsuit. The facility was still opened as of last week.
Legacy is offering to drop its claim if the city reinstates approval, according to attorney Heather Dukes.
