Two Phoenix-area natives with deep Arizona roots and more than a decade in Colorado’s restaurant scene have come home with a fresh take on fast casual, opening Urban Hip-E Fresh Kitchen on Mill Avenue.
For Sonya and James Gorraiz, the new Tempe location is more than just a second outpost – it also ties their restaurant business back to the community where they grew up and attended school. The pair also hopes to franchise future locations of Urban Hip-E and open the elevated fast-casual model in additional markets.
For now, though, they’re focusing on their new corner of Tempe, bringing together the food they love and the standards they’ve developed over more than a decade in the restaurant business in a city that once again feels like home…
