TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — A man who officials say caused a deadly chain-reaction crash on an East Valley freeway almost two years ago, then fled the scene, was arrested this month.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) said troopers arrested Deone Xavier Holland, 37, after a long investigation. He’ll face charges of leaving the scene of a fatal collision and endangerment.
The crash happened just before 3 a.m. on Nov. 3, 2024, on westbound Loop 202 Red Mountain, adjacent to the Scottsdale Road off-ramp.
DPS said a Dodge Journey going 96 mph rear-ended a Honda Pilot, causing the Honda to block lanes of the freeway. About 30 seconds later, an Audi Q7 hit the disabled Honda, and five minutes after that, a Ford Focus crashed into the Audi, according to DPS…
