Days after a Chandler High School sophomore succumbed to injuries he sustained when he was struck by a vehicle crossing the street during lunch, Chandler Unified Superintendent Frank Narducci announced he is forming a committee to look at possibly closing the campus during lunch breaks.
“We’re launching a safety and security advisory committee to evaluate the current landscape of the Chandler High School campus and explore feasible modifications to the school’s daily operation,” Narducci said at the April 8 Governing Board meeting. “CHS students currently have the ability to leave campus during their lunch periods.
“That’s been historic to that campus for quite a bit of time. Through the committee’s work, we’re looking to evaluate the future of the practice, among other possibilities.”…
