PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Have you received a text message or email stating that you owe court fines or traffic violation fees? You’re not alone, and Maricopa County Superior Court officials say dozens of people showed up on Wednesday to pay fines that weren’t real.
Officials are warning residents of a scam impacting thousands nationwide, including here in Arizona. Scammers are sending messages to Maricopa County residents stating that they must pay court fines and fees for tolls, speeding tickets and parking violations before a 9 a.m. hearing the following day.
